When you are getting ready to shoot a video interview about your business, what should you wear? Here are a few tips to keep in mind from a Minneapolis video production perspective:
The first tip is don’t wear any loud, giant patterns on your shirt. They can be very distracting on video. Small patterns are generally fine.
The second tip is also regarding the color of the outfit you’re wearing. It should be a different color than the wall behind you. So work with your videographer, or if you’re shooting yourself, check the location where you’re going to be shooting at. Make sure you know the wall color and maybe even bring two or three different outfits to change into just in case.
The third tip is that we use lapel microphones that capture great audio but they don’t work great with some types of clothing. So if you have a dress or a blouse that has really thin spaghetti straps, these can be a challenge. And also consider the way your hair is going to look that day, because if you have long hair that hangs down both sides of your front, it can scrape against that lapel microphone and we can lose audio.
Otherwise just wear whatever you feel comfortable in that also lines up with your brand and personality.
